Hello, everyone! I hope everyone has been having a good month of October and are all set with creative, spooky Halloween costumes! But know what else is coming up? The November elections. While I don't follow politics that closely, one topic dear to my heart is the Hobby Lobby controversy that went down this last June. For my Fundamentals of Public Speaking class we were suppose to write a persuasive speech on a topic of our choice so I did mine on why we need to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in the Hobby Lobby case. Now while I know this can be a very controversial topic, it's really important to me and I hope it can get more people out to vote on November 4th so whoever ends up elected is by a majority of the United States citizens and not only by a few. So take a look at my speech if you want and hope it can motivate you to go out and vote! Other than that, here's a picture from one of my favorite Pokemon artists to put you in the Halloween mood! If you want to see more of this artist's work there's a link below the pic!

Hello, everyone! It's amazing to think that I've already made it through one year of college and am on to my second! This past summer I spent on campus doing physics research on binary tellurium vanadate glasses and next time I find myself with free time I'll post more on that. For now, I'll explain the video above.
Since I'm planning on a Physics and Communication Studies major with a Math minor there are some mandatory classes that I must take. So for Communication this semester I'm taking Fundamentals of Public Speaking. And guess what? We get to go to an elementary school and give a speech to fifth graders!! We got to choose our own topic so I decided to do mine on different learning styles since so many kids don't realize that the reason they might be struggling in school is due to the fact they're not studying in an effective way that supports their cognitive style. The video above is one we took in class as a practice of delivering the speech since we don't give the actual speech until two weeks from now but this will be the only time we record it. I know there are still improvements that can be made (especially for the conclusion--when the person held up the big red "STOP" sign to signal out of time my brain scrambled and the words got jumbled) but I think for the first time presenting this speech in front of a group it went fairly well. Hope you guys enjoy, and I included a link to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test below! Plus there's a picture of the poster my fabulous roommate drew for me so that you can all get a better look at it! 16 Personalities: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator What with everything going on at college lately I haven't had time to produce anything, but my essay class recently was required to put together a video essay as one of the assignments. I figured "Hey, it's like a vlog! Why not post it as one?" So the format for this video is a bit different from my other uploads since it is technically an assignment for a class (not a vlog) but I figured you guys would enjoy it anyway. Have fun!
