Sweet Briar College Resists Closing
Yet another rare occurrence of two posts in one day! As some of you may be aware, Sweet Briar College in Virginia has been facing a standoff between the board of directors and the faculty, students, and alumni over whether the college will be kept open or closed. In an effort to help bring awareness to Sweet Briar's plight I got into contact with the college and put together an article outlining the history and some of the wonderful programs the college currently has. It was finally posted today and so I have included the link here so you can all go check it out and donate to the cause if you so choose!

Hello, everyone! So after a week of work I've completed my website for my Intro to Journalism class, a site that contains all the projects I've done this semester with descriptions and reflections on each. I thought you all might enjoy seeing everything I've done so I've included the link below so you can peruse at your leisure.
My Journey to Journalism Since finals are coming up I'm including a link to one of my favorite songs to help inspire everyone to do their best. Good luck! Faith of the Heart Last night was the final for my Opera Workshop. After months of work the three of us in the class pulled together five scenes from five different operas! While the quality of the video isn't the best since it was taken on my relatively cheap camera the audio isn't half bad so I've uploaded two of the scenes I was in last night for your viewing enjoyment. The first is a scene from Marriage of Figaro where I was the luckless teenager Cherubino trying to escape from the teasing of Figaro. The second scene was from the musical Carousel where Billy and Julie meet for the first time. Hope you guys enjoy seeing what we were able to put together! Hello, everyone! So for the last project for my Intro to Journalism class we had to go out and do video profiles on the new professors here at Coe. I chose to do one on the new Assistant Professor of Music, Loralee Songer, since I'd heard her sing before but hadn't had the chance to talk to her extensively. So after interviewing her, taking pictures while she taught a class, and compiling the lot I turned it in. Which I thought was the end of that. But it turns out the Public Relations department liked my video so much they uploaded it to the official Coe faculty profile webpage! I'm thrilled to have this privilege and have uploaded the video below so you can all see it as well. With only one week left until finals I'm going to be busy studying, but I'll post again soon! |
