Since I'm planning on a Physics and Communication Studies major with a Math minor there are some mandatory classes that I must take. So for Communication this semester I'm taking Fundamentals of Public Speaking. And guess what? We get to go to an elementary school and give a speech to fifth graders!! We got to choose our own topic so I decided to do mine on different learning styles since so many kids don't realize that the reason they might be struggling in school is due to the fact they're not studying in an effective way that supports their cognitive style. The video above is one we took in class as a practice of delivering the speech since we don't give the actual speech until two weeks from now but this will be the only time we record it. I know there are still improvements that can be made (especially for the conclusion--when the person held up the big red "STOP" sign to signal out of time my brain scrambled and the words got jumbled) but I think for the first time presenting this speech in front of a group it went fairly well. Hope you guys enjoy, and I included a link to take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test below! Plus there's a picture of the poster my fabulous roommate drew for me so that you can all get a better look at it!
